Professor John Gordon
Chief Scientific Officer

Professor Gordon is the Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Celentyx Ltd. He also holds a Personal Chair in Cellular Immunology in the MRC Centre for Immune Regulation at the University of Birmingham Medical School. Professor Gordon is recognised as one of the ‘World’s most highly cited researchers’ (www.ISIHighlyCited.com) and has gained this leading international recognition for his research of human B lymphocytes (antibody producing white blood cells) and the cancers, which can arise from these cells, namely leukaemia and lymphoma. Professor Nicholas Barnes
Chief Executive Officer

Professor Barnes is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Celentyx Ltd. He also holds a Personal Chair in Neuropharmacology at the University of Birmingham Medical School. Professor Barnes has a leading international reputation for applied research concerning the neurotransmitter 5-HT (serotonin) and is Chair of the prestigious International Union of Basic & Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) 5-HT Receptor Nomenclature Committee. He has published over 150 papers including contributions to Nature, PNAS (USA), Journal of Clinical Investigation, Blood and Gastroenterology, and is the principal author of a review of 5-HT receptors that has attracted more than 1250 citations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr John Curnow
Principal Scientist

Dr Curnow is a Principal Scientist within Celentyx and also a Senior Lecturer in the MRC Centre for Immune Regulation at the University of Birmingham Medical School. He has a longstanding interest in immunological tolerance and autoimmunity and is a leading expert on human T cells with particular interest in “new” CD4+ T helper subsets (e.g. Tregs, Th17, Th22), studying their impact in both health and disease. Dr Amy Butler
Laboratory Manager & Senior Scientist

Dr Butler is Laboratory Manager and a Senior Scientist within Celentyx Ltd. She graduated in pharmacology before completing a PhD investigating human 5-HT receptors. Dr Butler’s research subsequently focussed on the emerging field of NeuroImmunoPharmacology. Her research has been published in international journals and she is a member of the prestigious International Union of Basic & Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) 5-HT Receptor Nomenclature Committee.
